Two armed robbers on a motorcycle attempted to steal from a limping man in Upper Manhattan. With no one willing to help, the assailants repeatedly punched and tore at the victim's neck in an attempt to break his necklaces away. Fortunately, a good Samaritan grabbed the gun from one of the robbers and chased them down the street. The victim suffered minor injuries, but the suspects got away, even though they are believed to have committed 30-35 other robberies in the area over two months. The incident prompted residents to take action against rampant crime.
