‘Teacher Of The Year’ Allegedly Gave Oral Sex To Student In Classroom

A former "Teacher of the Year," Randi Chaverria, was arrested in Round Rock, Texas for allegedly performing oral sex on a student in her classroom. Chaverria, a trusted educator, faces second-degree felony charges and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. The student reported multiple incidents of sexual contact, including two instances of oral sex in the classroom. Text messages between Chaverria and the student supported the allegations. She resigned from her teaching position, and the situation was reported to the State Board for Educator Certification. In recent years, there has been an increase in reports of inappropriate relationships between students and teachers, with female perpetrators becoming a significant problem. These cases should be treated as abuse regardless of gender.
