Cop Couple Springs Into Action When Armed Robber Enters

A couple, both off-duty Elizabethtown police officers, were enjoying a date night at Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers restaurant when a masked man entered the establishment with a handgun intending to rob it. The newlyweds sprang into action, drawing their weapons and circling the center tables to converge on the suspect, who fled. They helped nearby Louisville police officers catch the suspect, who pleaded not guilty to robbery, receipt of stolen property, and being a felon in possession of a gun. The officers' bravery was applauded by law enforcement officials, and their story went viral with the hashtag “#DateNightGoals.”
