A man named Genesis Silva has been arrested by police after his girlfriend, Brittany Battaglia, was found dead inside his apartment in Chicago. Battaglia had been reported missing by her family after not hearing from her for several days. Silva was found with a black and red backpack, and police discovered a duffel bag containing Battaglia's body inside his apartment. Investigators found cleaning supplies, an ice pick, several knives, and a note written by Silva. Battaglia died from multiple stab wounds, and a machete was also found in Silva's possession. Silva is being held without bond and is a registered sex offender.
