A hangry deer in Texas turned the tables on predators by devouring a whole snake by the side of the road. A video of the incident, posted on Instagram by Trey Reinhart, has gone viral on social media, amassing 17.7 million views on Twitter. The behavior may seem bizarre, but deer have been known to eat animals on occasion, possibly to fuel growth spurts, maintain antlers, or safeguard themselves against lean times and habitat change. However, National Deer Association's Director of Conservation, Matt Ross, suspects that in this "super rare" instance, the deer just liked the taste of the snake.
