Detroit neurosurgeon Dr. Devon Hoover, whose body was discovered in his historic home, was shot twice in the head and dragged to the attic in a grotesque murder, according to a recent autopsy report. His death was ruled a homicide, and investigators believe Hoover knew his assailant. A person of interest was taken into custody shortly after his death and then released.
Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Tributes poured in for Hoover online from former patients and colleagues who remembered him for his warmth, compassion, and talent as a surgeon.
