Bridgerton's Classical Remix: A Wedding Trend is Born
Forget the traditional wedding march; "Bridgerton" has inspired a whole new generation of couples to embrace a more contemporary, classical twist for their big day.
Rachael Armstrong, who got married in 2021, is one such bride. She says she envisioned her wedding entrance "romantic but also a bit fun and quirky," and that's why she chose a violin arrangement of Carly Rae Jepsen's "I Really Like You."
"It was just so perfect," she says. "I knew I wanted something special, something that felt like 'us' but also had a touch of magic.
"
Armstrong is not alone. Couples are increasingly requesting orchestral renditions of pop hits for their weddings. "I've been doing weddings since 2018, and things escalated very fast after 'Bridgerton'," says Jay Émme, a cellist who's also played with Alicia Keys.
