Henry Cavill has confirmed that he is still set to star in Chad Stahelski's reboot of the Highlander franchise, three years after the film was first announced. Cavill remained secretive about what audiences can expect from the film, stating that there is still a lot of work to be done on his part. The reboot, announced in 2021, will see Cavill play the role of Connor Macleod, the last immortal Highlander. The original 1986 film, starring Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert, followed an ancient war between immortals and spawned multiple films, TV shows, books, video games, and comics. Stahelski has hinted that the new film will incorporate elements from the TV shows and aims to create an epic TV show with a rich mythology.
The reboot is set in modern-day New York City and is scheduled for release in 2026.
